Amazon Alexa FAQs

For example, how can I specify which door I want to lock?

Your Amazon Alexa device will recognize each of your ADT Pulse devices by the name that you assigned to it in your ADT mobile app. When asking your Alexa device to perform a task, you will need to refer to the ADT device by that name. For example, if you named your door "Front Door" in your ADT Pulse app, you will need to say "Alexa, lock the 'Front Door'."

Follow the directions below for each individual device name that you would like to change.

For Pulse:

  1. Log into the ADT Pulse portal at https://portal.adtpulse.com/
  2. Select the System tab
  3. Click on the name of the device that you would like to change
  4. Edit the Name field to what you would like to call your device
  5. Click Save

For Control:

  1. Log into the ADT Control Portal at control.adt.com
  2. Select Settings in the left navigation
  3. Select Devices in the following screen
