Most likely, you want everyone in your household to receive push notifications of events on your ADT system. If someone stops getting those notifications, here are a few things you can try to re-start them.
Verify that push notifications are enabled using the app:
- Log into the app and tap on the menu button
- Tap Notifications
- Verify that Push Notifications is toggled on
- If it’s toggled off:
- Tap the toggle switch to toggle it on
- Verify that the desired push notifications have been added for the recipient(s)
- Allow a few minutes for it to save, and then test the notification
Verify the push device is active using the website:
- Log into the Control Portal
- Click Notifications
- Click Manage Devices
- Click the desired device for which you want to manage notifications
- Verify Enable Notifications is toggled on
- Click Save
Verify notifications are enabled using the website:
- Log into the Control Portal
- Click Notifications
- Verify the desired notification is toggled on
- If the notification is toggled off, click the toggle switch to enable the notification
- Allow a few minutes for it to save, and then test the notification
- Click for the desired notification to verify
- In Recipients, verify desired push devices are shown
- If desired push devices aren’t showing:
- Click + Add Recipient
- Click to select the desired push devices
- Click Close
- Click Save

Verify notifications are enabled using the app:
- Log into the app and tap on the menu button
- Tap Notifications
- Tap the desired notification to verify
- Verify the notification switch is toggled ON
- If the notification is toggled off, click the toggle switch to enable the notification
Note: Allow a few minutes for it to save, and then test the notification
- Flick to scroll to verify desired push devices are shown under Recipients
- If desired push devices are not showing:
- Tap + Add Recipients
- Tap to select the desired push devices
- Tap Close
- Tap Save to save any changes made

Verify events are reporting
If the trigger events for the desired push notifications aren’t showing up in your account’s history, it may be that the security panel isn't signaling properly or isn't communicating the triggering action properly.
To verify events reporting using the app:
- Log into the app and tap on the menu button
- Verify the events that you want push notifications for (e.g., arming reminder, system armed away, sensor opened/closed, etc.) are appearing in the History
- Scroll down to refresh the history
To verify events are reporting using the website:
- Log into the Control Portal
- Click Activity
- Verify the events that you want push notifications for (e.g., arming reminder, system armed away, sensor opened/closed, etc.) are appearing on the Activity page
Power cycle the push device
If you’ve taken all the preceding steps and there’s still an issue, the cellular connection of the push device may be unstable. Power cycle the push device to help establish a good cellular connection. If the push device can’t secure a stable cellular connection, you may need to to contact your cellular provider for additional troubleshooting.
Refresh the push device
If you’ve taken all the preceding steps without getting it to work, you can refresh the push device by removing it from the account and then adding it back on.
To refresh push devices (you’ll use both the app and website in this process):
- Disable push notifications on the mobile device:
- Log into the app and tap on the menu button
- Tap Notifications
- Tap the Push Notifications toggle switch to OFF
- Verify that push devices are disabled from the Control Portal:
- Log into the Control Portal
- Click Notifications
- Click Manage Devices
- Click the desired push notification device
- Click Delete
- In the popup window, click Delete
- Once push devices are verified to be disabled on the website, re-enable push notifications on the mobile device:
- Log back into the app and tap on the menu button
- Tap Notifications
- Tap the Push Notifications toggle switch so it is back on.
- Verify the push devices are showing on the Push Devices user from the website:
- Log back into the Control Portal
- Click Notifications
- Click Manage Devices
- Click the desired push notifications device
- Verify Enable Notifications is toggled on
- Rename the device, if desired, then click Save
- Add the push device as a recipient to desired notifications
- Trigger the action that generates notifications to test push notifications
Device-specific troubleshooting
- Verify there aren't any settings enabled on the device that would prevent it from receiving push notifications
- Verify there aren't any security applications installed on the device that may block push notifications
