Command - Arming Reminders FAQs

Arming notifications are a great way to know who’s arming or disarming your system, and when. Your ADT system allows you to add users and assign them specific arm/disarm codes. So, if you give a code to a dog walker who comes regularly, you’ll be notified when they use their code. Here’s how to create notifications through the ADT Control app:

1. Log into the app and tap on the menu button 
2. Tap on Notifications and then on the + symbol
3. Tap to expand Create Your Own
4. Tap Arming Event
5. Name the new notification rule
6. Using the When dropdown menu, select either of the following:
   • Any user or Keyfob to be notified about anyone arming/disarming
   • Select users and Keyfobs for specific users
7. In Perform any of these actions, tap to get a notification if any of these actions occurs:
   • Disarm – notifies you when the panel is disarmed
   • Arm stay – notifies you when the panel is set to Arm Stay
   • Arm away – notifies you when the panel is set to Arm Away
8. In During this time frame, tap to select either of these choices for when to get notification
   • At all times – notifies you anytime the arming event occurs
   • Only during the following times – allows you to configure the specific days and times to receive notifications
9. In Notification filtering, tap to select the filtering you want

You can also add notification recipients at this time. Here’s how:

1. Tap +Add recipient
2. Tap the contacts in your Address Book you want notified or tap + Add contact to add a new Address Book entry

When you’re all done, tap Close, then verify the notification is configured correctly. If it’s all good, tap Save and you’re done.

You can also create arming notifications through the Control Portal in a similar fashion. Here’s how:

1. Log into your Control Portal
2. Click on Notifications
3. Click on +New notifications
4. Click on Arming Event
5. Name the new notification rule
6. Using the When drop-down menu, select either of the following:
   • Any user or Keyfob to be notified about anyone arming disarming the alarm
   • Select users and keyfobs for specific users
7. In Perform any of these actions, tap to get a notification if any of these actions occurs:
   • Disarm – notifies you when the panel is disarmed
   • Arm stay – notifies you when the panel is set to Arm Stay
   • Arm away – notifies you when the panel is set to Arm Away

Here’s how to use the ADT Control app to set up a reminder notification if your system isn’t armed by a certain time:

1. Log into the app and tap on the menu button 
2. Tap Notifications
3. Tap +
4. Tap Arming Reminders
5. Name the new notification rule
6. In Send an arming reminder, if the system is NOT armed, choose one of the following:
   • At a specific time to enter a time by which you want your system armed
   • When selected people cross a Geo-Fence to select the desired Geo-Devices
7. In During this time frame, choose one of the following:
   • At all times - notifies you at all times when the image sensor detects motion
   • Only during the following times – allows you to set up notifications to only take place during certain hours of the day

You can also add notification recipients at this time. Here’s how:

1. Tap +Add recipients
2. Tap the contacts in your Address Book you want notified or tap + Add contact to add a new Address Book entry.

When you’re all done, tap Close, then verify the notification is configured correctly. If it’s all good, tap Save and you’re done.
