Simon XT Panel and Keypad

Arm and Disarm

Arm:

  • To arm in level 2 (exterior arming), press [doors + windows] + [security code].
  • To arm in level 3 (motion sensor arming), press [motions] + [security code]. 
  • To arm in level 4 (exterior and motion sensor), press [doors + windows] + [security code].

Disarm:

  • To disarm, press [disarm] + [security code].

Bypass Protected Areas

Bypassing a zone allows you to arm your system with certain protected areas intentionally unarmed or to access a protected area when the system is armed.

  • To bypass a zone, press [BYPASS] + [security code] + [scroll to desired sensor] + [OK].

  • To unbypass a zone, press [BYPASS] + [security code] + [scroll to desired sensor] + [OK].

Change Date and Time

To change the time, scroll until the display shows ‘SET CLOCK’, then press [OK].

  • Enter your [master code], then press [OK] twice. The panel flashes the hour on the display
  • Scroll to set the hours, then press [OK]. The panel flashes the minutes on the display.
  • Scroll to set the minutes, then press [OK]. The panel flashes ‘AM/PM’ on the display.
  • Scroll to set am/pm, then press [OK]. The panel flashes the current time and stops flashing.
  • Press [STATUS] to exit.

To change the date, scroll until the display shows ‘SET DATE’, then press [OK].

  • Enter your [master code], then press [OK]. The panel flashes the year on the display.
  • Scroll to set the year, then press [OK]. The panel flashes the months on the display.
  • Scroll to set the month, then press [OK]. The panel flashes the day on the display.
  • Scroll to the day, then press [OK]. The panel flashes the programmed date.
  • Press [STATUS] to exit.

Chimes and Beeps

Your system communicates events using chimes and beeps.

The panel chimes twice when a protected door/window is opened.

  • To silence or enable chimes, scroll until the panel displays [Chimes], then press [OK].
  • Scroll to toggle [ON] or [OFF], then press [OK].
  • Press [Status] to exit.
  • A solid bell feature will appear in the display when Chime is enabled.

Your system has two alarm sound options: beeps and voice.

  • To program piezo beeps, enter the system programming menu.
  • Scroll until you find [SIREN OPTIONS], then press [OK].
  • Scroll until you find [PIEZO BEEPS], then press [OK]. The current siren value will flash.
  • Scroll to the desired value (ON/OFF), then press [OK].
  • Press [STATUS] to exit.
  • To program the panel piezo alarm, enter the system programming menu.
  • Scroll until you find [SIREN OPTIONS], then press [OK].
  • Scroll until you find [PANEL PIEZO ALARM], then press [OK]. The current siren value will flash.
  • Scroll to the desired value (ON/OFF), then press [OK].
  • Press [STATUS] to exit.
  • To program panel voice, enter the system programming menu.
  • Scroll until you find [SIREN OPTIONS], then press [OK].
  • Scroll until you find [PANEL VOICE], then press [OK]. The current siren value will flash.
  • Scroll to the desired value (ON/OFF), then press [OK].
  • Press [STATUS] to exit.

Reset

To clear the display after an alarm event, press [Status] to view the event, then press [Disarm] to clear the event history.

To clear the display after a Trouble Condition, press [Status] to view the condition, then press [Status] again to clear the condition history.

Security Codes

The Simon XT allows for up to 8 additional users.

There are 3 user types that can be assigned:

Master - can perform all functions and assign users.

  • To program a Master user, enter the system programming menu by pressing [Enter] and scrolling to the [Access Code] menu, then press [OK].
  • Scroll until you find [Master Code], then press [OK]. The current code value will flash.
  • Enter a new code, then press [OK].
  • Press [STATUS] to exit.

User (numbers 1-8) – can arm and disarm but not program any codes. 

  • To program a standard user, enter the system programming menu by pressing [Enter] and scrolling to [Access Codes], then press [OK].
  • Scroll to the user code you would like to change, then press [OK]. The current code value will flash.
  • Enter a new code, then press [OK].
  • Press [STATUS] to exit.

Duress – generates a silent alarm to ADT Monitoring Centers.

  • To program a silent Duress code, enter the system programming menu by pressing [Enter] and scrolling to [Access Codes], then press [OK].
  • Scroll until you find [Duress Code], then press [OK]. The current code value will flash.
  • Enter a new code, then press [OK].
  • Press [STATUS] to exit.

Trouble Conditions

Your security system is able to automatically test itself for power failures, low batteries, nonworking sensors, and communication troubles with the ADT Monitoring Centers. When your security system detects a trouble condition, six rapid beeps will sound every minute for four hours until the trouble condition is corrected.

To silence trouble beeps, press [STATUS] or arm/disarm the system.

Volume

  • To program the beep volume, enter the system programming menu.
  • Scroll until you find [SIREN OPTIONS], then press [OK].
  • Scroll until you find [STATUS BEEP VOLUMNE], then press [OK]. The current siren value will flash.
  • Scroll to the desired value (1-10), then press [OK].
  • Press [STATUS] to exit.
  • To program the speaker volume, enter the system programming menu.
  • Scroll until you find [SIREN OPTIONS], then press [OK].
  • Scroll until you find [SPEAKER VOLUME], then press [OK]. The current siren value will flash.
  • Scroll to the desired value (1-8), then press [OK].
  • Press [STATUS] to exit.
